Fluence Corporation Limited (ASX: FLC; the “Company”) is pleased to announce it has been awarded four Municipal Water and Wastewater contracts, two Industrial Wastewater and Biogas contracts, and one Industrial Water and Reuse operations contract so far. Fluence is starting off the year strong with more than US $6 million in sales year-to-date 2025.

Multiple U.S. customers have purchased Fluence’s containerized Aspiral™ Flex MABR plants, opting for high nutrient removal with a small footprint.

Fluence’s Municipal Water and Wastewater Group has secured a contract to provide a 150,000 gallon per day (GPD) containerized wastewater treatment plant for Westcott development, a new housing development in Rancho Lucerne, California, which is owned by Wilshire Road, LLC. The development will span 1,370 acres with plans to build 4,257 single-family homes within seven years. It will feature a 27-hole golf course, 30 acres of retail and mixed-use commercial spaces, parks, new schools, a country club, and a dedicated fire station. To treat the development’s wastewater, Wilshire Road, LLC has purchased an Aspiral™ Flex containerized wastewater treatment plant featuring Fluence’s MABR (membrane aerated biofilm reactor) technology, equalization tanks, ultrafiltration, sludge holding, and UV disinfection. The resulting effluent satisfies California’s stringent recycled water regulations and the development plans to reuse the treated wastewater. The initial project is anticipated to be delivered in September 2025 with start-up in Q4 2025, and will require several expansions over the coming years as the development grows to meet the ultimate goal of 1.5 million gallons per day (MGD) capacity.

Fluence has also secured an Aspiral™ Flex wastewater treatment plant sale in Hawaii. Kualoa Ranch has committed to a project for a 35,000 GPD Aspiral™ Flex plant with Fluence’s MABR technology, filtration, clarification, and R-2 UV disinfection for reuse. Kualoa Ranch is a family-owned operation established in 1850 and has been a tourist destination since 1985. It is a private nature preserve and has been used for filming over 200 movies and TV shows, more recently associated with the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World movies. Kualoa Ranch has the potential to be a high exposure opportunity for Fluence given the history and tourist traffic to the park.

In Missouri, a private utility with hundreds of plants across eleven U.S. states has purchased an Aspiral™ Flex wastewater treatment plant. This Aspiral™ solution will complement a failing lagoon system to meet state standards and reduce odor for nearby residents in Missouri. This will be Fluence’s first Aspiral™ installation in Missouri. In an EPA study of over 4,500 lagoon wastewater treatment facilities across the United States, the researchers found that 61% of facilities have effluent exceedances for pollutants. Aspiral™ Flex offers an affordable and effective solution to quickly bring these struggling facilities into compliance.

Commenting on these orders: Steven Scheidler, VP & GM of Municipal Water and Wastewater, said: “Our team is doing a fantastic job of getting our flagship technology in front of our customers and the acceptance of MABR is increasing as we move into 2025. These wins show our value across multiple markets, and we thank our customers for their recognition and trust in our ability to meet their challenges with our flexible Aspiral™ solutions.”

On the water treatment side, the Municipal Water & Wastewater Group has secured a contract to supply engineering, fabrication, inspection, off-site preassembly, and supervision installation for a skid-based 153 GPM (35 m3/hr) reverse osmosis (RO) treatment system. The project was a competitive bid that fills a gap in the current RO water market in Northeastern Florida.

Scheidler commented: “Fluence has found a niche where we can make an impact on projects less than $1M and greater than $200K to develop a reference base to build our business moving forward.”

Fluence’s Industrial Wastewater and Biogas products have also been gaining traction in North America in early 2025. Fluence has secured projects with two leading food and beverage companies.

In 2019, Fluence delivered a DAF pre-treatment system to a dairy facility in Warren, Indiana. The facility has since been acquired and the plant now performs fruit processing, which requires complete wastewater treatment before discharge. The fruit processing company has selected Fluence to design and provide a modern wastewater system to meet POTW (Publicly Owned Treatment Works) requirements. The system, expected to be operational by the end of Q3, will be designed to remove more than 95% of BOD, TSS, and Nitrogen and will feature biological treatment, chemical adjustment, and solids separation.

Fluence has also secured an engineering order with a leading global beverage solutions provider with over 5,000 employees and 31 facilities across North America. One of their facilities in Missouri is expanding and requires their pre-treatment system to be upgraded and optimized accordingly. Fluence has been selected to do the engineering for the upgrade.

Commenting on these orders: Fabio Poletto, VP & GM of Industrial Wastewater and Biogas, said: “We look forward to seeing the opportunities that will come from these orders with leading food and beverage companies. We are gaining traction in the U.S. market and seeing significant interest in the flexibility and expertise that our team has to offer based on years of international experience.”

Additionally, in South America, Fluence’s Industrial Water and Reuse Group was awarded a new operations contract with a polyethylene manufacturer in Argentina. This is a renewal of an existing contract, which involves managing the ultrafiltration plant’s operations 24-7. The plant has been in operation since 2018 and treats surface water with ultrafiltration for use in cooling towers.
