The treatment process consists of removal by arsenic oxidation, followed by adsorption using resins filled with iron hydroxide. The capacity of the resins depends on the arsenic concentration in the raw water and the presence of interfering ions such as phosphates and silica. The process reduces raw water arsenic concentration from 50 \u00b5g\/L to less than 2 \u00b5g\/L in the treated water. A sequential batch reactor (SBR) was converted into a continuous bioreactor with an Airlift membrane clarification step.
